Containing the plants, soil, and nutrients, a planter creates a controlled environment to learn what it takes to grow plants successfully, for the advanced gardener planters elevate your design. Add a planter as a centerpiece to a garden or highlight an entry or unique feature of a home. Combine planters in colorful arrangements to bring interest into an existing garden that needs updating. Planting with containers will always be a fun adventure in the garden and a perfect way to celebrate a life well-lived outdoors.
The Capitol Hill Urn is shown in the Alpine Stone finish. Campania International's cast stone products are available in exclusive natural pigment stains. All Campania's patinas are hand-applied in a multi-step process that produces unique and beautiful surface finishes to replicate naturally aged materials. Like stains for wood, each piece will accept the patinas in varying degrees of intensity, creating surface variations with distinctive character. Even when applied with the same process, this artisanal technique gives each piece a unique beauty and permits natural aging to occur seamlessly outdoors. Please note that due to the hand application process of photography, actual colors may vary from those depicted here.
Campania International proudly manufactures its cast stone products in the USA using locally sourced, natural materials. The pieces use a proprietary, high-density cast stone mix of water, sand, stone aggregate, and cement. All available patinas are hand-applied to the product's surface. Cast stone produces a strong and durable product that will weather naturally outdoors.
All Campania International planters have drainage holes. In winter, if you're leaving a planter outside with plants, elevate it to keep the drainage hole clear and prevent freezing to the ground. If not in use, store it indoors in a garage or shed. The high-density cast stone mixture provides durability but requires maintenance to withstand winter freeze-thaw cycles. These cycles can damage items that hold water, snow, or ice, especially if placed directly on the ground. If you can’t elevate the planter, turn it upside down to avoid snow and ice accumulation. Cover it with burlap or an absorbent material, then wrap it in dark plastic to prevent moisture build-up.
