The Nelson’s Column, in England, was built to honor a fallen war hero, Admiral Horatio Nelson. In Russia, the Pointing Lenin Statue was built in memory of the 1917 October Russian Revolution, when Vladamir Lenin gave his speech at the Finland Rail Terminal. Statues may also be a vision by an artist created for the sake of art. Some example of these would include Michelangelo’s Statue of David, Auguste Rodin’s The Thinker and the Greek Statue of Venus de Milo. These are famous statues and make an artistic inspiration for the public.
